Mission & Values
Our Vision & Mission
Our vision is that Autistic adults & their families lead rich, active lives in an accepting, supportive community.
Our mission is to create opportunities that inspire & Autistic and neurodivergent community to discover new interests, develop social skills and networks, & live their best lives.
We support lifelong relationships
of families and friends
Autistic adults & their lifelong family caregivers can be particularly vulnerable to loneliness, isolation, & sedentary lives. After decades of trying to connect, many of our members had simply stopped leaving the house because of the fear of failing or not fitting in.
Autism Home Base families work together to create opportunities to explore new interests in a supportive environment among peers. Last year, over 200 member participants enjoyed sports, recreation, social & wellness programs online, or in small in-person social pods.
Here, foundations for supportive life long friendships are built. It’s not traditional respite – it’s social relief. Our families make meaningful connections with others who ‘get it’, right away, because they live it too.
We are member driven
For families, by families
Members are the drivers behind the growth & success of our grassroots-driven organization.
Our membership has amassed an incredible pool of knowledge, resources, & supports that lends itself to our collective work. When people participate alongside one another, relationships are built. Those relationships are what move us forward. They create lasting bonds & fuel innovation.
We encourage every member to use their voice, their time, & their skills to harness the power of our network for themselves and others.
We are committed to inclusion
across the autism spectrum
Autism encompasses a spectrum of abilities & challenges. Some individuals with autism live independently & successfully, while others require lifelong support. They may have limited communication & present challenging behaviours that preclude their involvement in typical community events, activities, & public programs.
At Autism Home Base, we celebrate that which makes each of us unique.

We are stronger together
Working with community partners
Our work would not be possible without the support of community partners. We believe that working together allows us to nurture relationships & build a foundation of inclusivity for our future.
The relationships we build with small businesses, schools, local governments, & non-profits, create positive economic and social ripple effects.
When our values align with those of our community, everyone wins.
