When you register as a member, you agree to the following membership terms.

Annual Fee: Members will pay an annual fee per family which renews each December. Fee can be paid by cash, cheque or etransfer to [email protected].  Memberships are not refundable or transferable. Autism Home Base (AHB) reserves the right to suspend, refuse or revoke a membership without reimbursement if terms of agreement are broken. 

Member Give Back:  Without whole family involvement our low annual fee would not be sustainable. Autism Home Base receives no core funding and depends on family members and community supporters as volunteers and donors. Each family will be asked to contribute volunteer hours and support fundraising efforts through contribution of time and/or by making a tax deductible donation.

Benefits: Membership includes access to various programs offered by AHB. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. The primary member and their family members are included under one family membership. Members are entitled to receive notice of meetings and are invited to attend. Each family membership shall be entitled to one vote at such meetings. All participating members must complete a registration package.

Our Community: Our family-led service model counts on participation of multiple participants from each family to support program development and delivery.  Every program can be enjoyed by moms, dads, siblings, as well as the primary participant. Together, we are building a supportive, connected inclusive community. 

Individual supports: All members who require communication, behavioural or navigational support must be accompanied by a family caregiver/guardian who is 18 years of age or older and who will participate in the activity.  In the event that a family caregiver is unavailable, paid caregivers may attend as support no more than 10% of sessions. Our family caregivers appreciate opportunities to network and connect with their peers. 

Acknowledgement of risks: I understand and agree that there are risks. Both foreseeable and unpredictable, associated with the activities we are about to undertake through AHB and by participating I am exposed to certain risks. I assume the risk and responsibility for any injury, death or property damage resulting from my participation in activities organized through Autism Home Base.

Release and Indemnity: I release, indemnify and hold harmless Autism Home Base and it’s servants and agents, from and against all and any actions or claims which may be made by me or on my behalf or by other parties for or in respect or, or arising out of, any injury, loss, damage or death caused to me or my property whether by negligence, break of contract or in anyway whatsoever.

Media Consent (optional): I hereby grant permission to Autism Home Base to take photos and videos during planned activities of which I may appear in. These photos and videos may be used for promotional use on print and online in public platforms. This includes the website, social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and any marketing material to be produced in the future.
